Rulers copromising on national dignity

ISLAMABAD – After independence, leadership of this country had never compromised on self-respect and dignity but unfortunately the incumbent rulers started compromising on every thing relating to national dignity and self-respect despite the fact that our survival is at stake, Zaid Hamid, a prominent scholar stated this on Tuesday.

The Sir Syed Memorial Society Islamabad has organised a thought-provoking event in connection with Iqbal Day titled ‘Iqbal Ka Phlshpa-e-Khudi aur Nojwan Nassul’ here on Tuesday. Besides others, a large number of students from different educational institutions also participated and took part in this attractive Programme.
Zahid said that in the shape of Kerry Lugar Bill, we have accepted that we are servants of the US and our rulers deviated from the vision of Quaid and Iqbal.

He threw light on the concept of Iqbal on knowledge, dignity, self-respect and leadership. He quoted Iqbal’s teacher Arnold that he (Iqbal) was the man of age.

Zaid Hamid said that Iqbal was a gift from Allah to Muslim world particularly people of sub-continent.
He said that unfortunately, as a nation we could not follow Iqbal’s vision. He said that Iqbal was not only thinker of Pakistan but he was a real hero and leader of the Ummah.

A group of schoolgirls, presented special anthem of proposed Sir Syed University Islamabad (Pakistan Hmara hay hm jannat issy bnaen ge). Brigadier Iqbal Shafi, President of the society in his welcome address said that real definition of ‘Khudi’ was to acquire complete knowledge of inner-self.
